Great job. I was really drawn into the track, and the synth work in the beginning. I have a lot of respect for people that choose to use acoustic elements, such as acoustic guitars and pianos. There's an organic quality to this song.

I would work a little on the bass, and the overall mixing. It sounded a little dense in busier parts, and that kinda subtracted from the awesomeness :( but not by much. Really great work here, 15thDimension.

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review!

A very haunting track. I enjoyed the dark ambient elements, as well as the wobble. The creepy synth throughout was particularly a nice touch, I hope you return to this synth in the future. It was well worth the listen, and I have downloaded it :)

If I could recommend any changes, I would say work on the tone of the wobble bass. The wobble pattern was kind of odd, which is never a bad thing, but it felt a little forced. But that may be what you were aiming for, and, in that case, good job.

I would recommend posting a review request to the Review Request Club. We've got a lot of talented musicians that will gladly review, rate, and listen your track. Just some food for thought, give it a shot.

Thanks. In terms of the wobble I wanted it to be a bit aggressive. just as a sort of contrast with the rest of the song to help it stand out. I might have gone a bit overboard.

I appreciate the mellowness of the track. There's an undeniable smoothness, like butter on the tongue. I wish this smoothness was uniform, though, as in the latter part of the song, the kick was a bit too heavy and the lead was a bit dry. But that did little to affect the quality of the song: it remained a very alluring track that bordered on cerebral.

I would cut the treble frequencies down a smidgeon, if I were you. You have one heck of a track, and I'd like to hear more like this!

Thanks for the good review. They help me improve the songs for full release on albums.

As I begin to listen to this track, I cannot help but be reminded of the sunset. Something quite interesting at 1:48 AM.

This is such a cerebral track, it really puts you in a nice place. Complacency through music. I like it.

What really blew me away were the layers of the song -- you got such a huge sound with few instruments. Just the right amount of loudness, and your synths crescendo'd nicely in the attacks. I like the lead in the beginning that doubles as a time keeper -- smart arrangement.

Hm, I agree with your visions of sunset and night listening. :3 It puts me in a relaxed, thoughtful mood too. Sometimes you only need just a few elements in a piece, just a few sustained chords to begin shaping your way and imagination. Thank you very much ^^

There was a very special wistful and mellow quality to this arrangement. It's obvious this is more of a track for the artist -- to test out the VST. I definitely give it a thumbs up. I don't know if it was the harmonies down low, but I heard some clashing frequencies in there that kind of sapped the tone from the tune. I liked the key and chord progression, I hope you choose to revisit this in future tracks.

KKSlider60 responds:

I don't know about remixing but I'll definitely keep the chord progression in mind. :)
Glad you enjoyed it

I definitely like the track. I think you should extend it a bit. Maybe work on the mix -- the harmonies you are making are a little more complex than the usual thirds, fourths, and fifths that you come across. The bass work was excellent, you made a dynamic sound with the lower parts that made the repetitive melody well supported.

Like I said, just make it a little less noisy. I know that's probably due to the nature of 8-bit, but I feel like the mids could be cut down a bit. I could hear this in a RPG or adventure game/movie. Very nice. Dragon Warrior-esque feel.

TY :D Yay i did good finally ok ill try to make it less noisy and its also cause i used a different instrument out of my other songs. mids? oo

Thx for the review though :3

The essence of the song is what made me not like it as much as I wanted to. I liked that the bass was subdued and not blowing my head off -- the mixing was excellent and I'd like to take a feather out of your hat on that. The kick was real nice, and a nice drumline overall contributed well to it.

What I did not like about the song was the "ha" and lead. I feel like they clashed quite a bit, and that made me not enjoy it. If the song where to have been sans vocal, I feel like I could appreciate it a lot more.

Good luck on the rest of your efforts, nice rhythm section.

TBM responds:

This was just a fun little track to play around with vocal chopping, but I do think I still need to work on my chops. I appreciate the detailed review mate, I think I'll fix it up!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere built by the track. The drums and bass (I'll return to these in a minute), and the crystal-sounding lead was really interesting to listen to, and I could hear the two supporting each other well. I nodded the whole way through, and found the tempo and rhythm to be impeccable.
The low point to me was the rhythm section. The beat was great, and the bass notes were chosen well -- but there was a loudness that was reached that consistently caused my headphones to clip. They were too loud in the mix for me, and made my ears ache a little bit :(

I applaud the sense of ambiance employed (seewhatididthere?), but I must request you tweak the mix a bit so the song doesn't get swallowed up by the rhythm section.

Thanks, man! That was a great review :) I'll try to do what you said next time :D

First off, I liked the song. It was definitely bumping, and the drums were on point. The lead was good, and you had some interesting melodies going on through out, and I really appreciated that.
However, your song suffers from a loudness issue. It's not that the whole song is loud -- your leads and drums were at a nice volume -- but the bass was so prominent that it was detrimental to the whole track. It was very very thick, and had that dark tone that you yourself mentioned in the description -- and that's all and good. It just happened to completely take over the track, and didn't work in tandem to the drums or the lead. When I listened to it with headphones, I had to turn the volume down or face eardrum damage -- that wasn't very pleasant. I think you could stand to turn the bass down in the mix.
I realize that they call it drum n bass for a reason, but there should still be a nice synergy between the bass, drums, and leads. Because of the high volume bass, I felt that was missing from an otherwise solid song.

I want to iterate that I did enjoy the song. I found the bass to be distracting, and I hope that, in the future, you'll take that down a smidge.

Thanks for the song, keep up the hard work.

yeah i have been messing around with some mixing techniques and ill just lower it and re-upload.

Good vision on this song. However, I feel like the wobble was right in all the wrong places, and it just didn't have the smooth, flowing, or grooving wub that I like to hear. The droning lead was pretty appropriate, nice work on that.

awesomemann1234 responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
I kinda rushed through the wubs, which I usually don't do.
That's why it sounded off.
Thanks for that though!
